- 1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلْمُرْسَلَٰتِ عُرْفًۭا
ENBy those [winds] sent forth in gusts
- 2
فَٱلْعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصْفًۭا
ENAnd the winds that blow violently
- 3
وَٱلنَّٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًۭا
ENAnd [by] the winds that spread [clouds]
- 4
فَٱلْفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرْقًۭا
ENAnd those [angels] who bring criterion
- 5
فَٱلْمُلْقِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا
ENAnd those [angels] who deliver a message
- 6
عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا
ENAs justification or warning,
- 7
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ
ENIndeed, what you are promised is to occur.
- 8
فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ
ENSo when the stars are obliterated
- 9
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ
ENAnd when the heaven is opened
- 10
وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ
ENAnd when the mountains are blown away
- 11
وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ
ENAnd when the messengers' time has come...
- 12
لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ
ENFor what Day was it postponed?
- 13
لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ
ENFor the Day of Judgement.
- 14
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ
ENAnd what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement?
- 15
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ENWoe, that Day, to the deniers.
- 16
أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
ENDid We not destroy the former peoples?
- 17
ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
ENThen We will follow them with the later ones.
- 18
كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
ENThus do We deal with the criminals.
- 19
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ENWoe, that Day, to the deniers.
- 20
أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍۢ مَّهِينٍۢ
ENDid We not create you from a liquid disdained?
- 21
فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍۢ مَّكِينٍ
ENAnd We placed it in a firm lodging
- 22
إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
ENFor a known extent.
- 23
فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَٰدِرُونَ
ENAnd We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine.
- 24
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ENWoe, that Day, to the deniers.
- 25
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا
ENHave We not made the earth a container
- 26
أَحْيَآءًۭ وَأَمْوَٰتًۭا
ENOf the living and the dead?
- 27
وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَٰمِخَٰتٍۢ وَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُم مَّآءًۭ فُرَاتًۭا
ENAnd We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water.
- 28
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ENWoe, that Day, to the deniers.
- 29
ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
EN[They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny.
- 30
ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّۢ ذِى ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٍۢ
ENProceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns
- 31
لَّا ظَلِيلٍۢ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ
EN[But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame."
- 32
إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍۢ كَٱلْقَصْرِ
ENIndeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress,
- 33
كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٌۭ صُفْرٌۭ
ENAs if they were yellowish [black] camels.
- 34
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ENWoe, that Day, to the deniers.
- 35
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
ENThis is a Day they will not speak,
- 36
وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ
ENNor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse.
- 37
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ENWoe, that Day, to the deniers.
- 38
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
ENThis is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples.
- 39
فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌۭ فَكِيدُونِ
ENSo if you have a plan, then plan against Me.
- 40
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ENWoe, that Day, to the deniers.
- 41
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَٰلٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ
ENIndeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs
- 42
وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
ENAnd fruits from whatever they desire,
- 43
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
EN[Being told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."
- 44
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
ENIndeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
- 45
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ENWoe, that Day, to the deniers.
- 46
كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ
EN[O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals.
- 47
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ENWoe, that Day, to the deniers.
- 48
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ
ENAnd when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow.
- 49
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ENWoe, that Day, to the deniers.
- 50
فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ
ENThen in what statement after the Qur'an will they believe?
