- 1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ
ENWhen the sky breaks apart
- 2
وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ
ENAnd when the stars fall, scattering,
- 3
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ
ENAnd when the seas are erupted
- 4
وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ
ENAnd when the [contents of] graves are scattered,
- 5
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌۭ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
ENA soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.
- 6
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
ENO mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,
- 7
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
ENWho created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?
- 8
فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍۢ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ
ENIn whatever form He willed has He assembled you.
- 9
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ
ENNo! But you deny the Recompense.
- 10
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَٰفِظِينَ
ENAnd indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,
- 11
كِرَامًۭا كَٰتِبِينَ
ENNoble and recording;
- 12
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
ENThey know whatever you do.
- 13
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍۢ
ENIndeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,
- 14
وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍۢ
ENAnd indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.
- 15
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
ENThey will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,
- 16
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ
ENAnd never therefrom will they be absent.
- 17
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
ENAnd what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
- 18
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
ENThen, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
- 19
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌۭ لِّنَفْسٍۢ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلَّهِ
ENIt is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.
